Beyond 2025: Pingala’s journey forward

In 2013, Pingala started with a simple but powerful idea: what if communities could take control of their own energy? A group of passionate locals came together, frustrated by rising power bills and the lack of renewable options, especially for renters and apartment dwellers. They believed there had to be a better way – and Pingala was born.

Energy that belongs to all of us

At our heart, Pingala believes in something pretty radical – that communities should own and control their own energy. Not big corporations. Not distant shareholders. Us. Our neighbours. Our community.

Over the years, we've been busy putting solar panels throughout local communities- making residential apartments, social housing and local businesses more energy efficient, and proving that community-owned renewable energy actually works. We've been a grassroots organisation showing that everyday people can take charge of their energy future.

2026 and beyond

The Pingala Association committee has been thinking hard about our future, and we're excited about what's possible! Here's what we're planning to focus on in 2026:

  • Getting Bigger (the good way!): We're hoping to expand our projects – more solar for apartments, more community energy initiatives, and exploring new ways to make renewable energy accessible to everyone. We're planning to explore new funding options and build partnerships with organisations who share our values.

  • Spreading the word: We're working on how we communicate better with you- refining our new website, providing more update on what we are doing, and providing more opportunities for you to get involved. We want to make sure everyone understands what we're about, because a movement is only as strong as the people who believe in it.

  • Staying Strong: We're planning to make sure Pingala stays healthy for the long haul – working towards improving our operations, keeping our finances transparent, and building a solid foundation for the future.
